Music Discuss all things musical
Then David and all the house of Israel played music before the LORD on all kinds of instruments of fir wood, on harps, on stringed instruments, on tambourines, on sistrums, and on cymbals. (2 Sam 6:5)

Kila

Has anyone else ever heard of the band "Kila"?

They're a Celtic band, and, in some respects, very traditional, but they mix a lot of innovative, "modern" sounds in... my musical vocabulary is very limitied, btw. I know what I like, but its hard to analyze it.

I don't know if you can find clips online, but if you're interested and musically savvy you probably could.

I got their album Tog e go bog e about a month and a half ago, and I would say its been the album of choice in my car 95% of the time since then.

I don't remember the last time I've initially enjoyed a band so much...

anyway, their website is

www.kila.ie

I highly recommend their music. I don't know what their "stances" are on everything, and its hard to tell, since most of their songs are instrumental, and the ones that have words are usually in Gaelic.

Anyway... anyone else ever heard them?

I've had that album for a couple of years, and I enjoy most every song. I think I found it at borders one day, started listening to it, then bought it. Good stuff.
