Music Discuss all things musical
Then David and all the house of Israel played music before the LORD on all kinds of instruments of fir wood, on harps, on stringed instruments, on tambourines, on sistrums, and on cymbals. (2 Sam 6:5)

24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!
So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.

Sounds like a second rate cover band.

The vocalist sounds like he's trying to imitate Hatfield... but without the anger and intensity it just sounds flat.

after he was told he sounded like Metallica...they tried to get away from the sound. This is the only album that sounds like it...I also think its their best album.

Cheap imatation. One thing that has always bothered me about the CCM scene is and was how they always seem to produce a sound alike band to supposedly counter act. It has been going on since the 80's. I even have a CD of a band that sounds like AC/DC from a group called X-Sinner. Now days, the new CCM scene male singers sound so effeminate and whimpy in my opinion that I don't even care what they do. My kid likes Hillsong Live and I actually went to one of their concerts with him. But I think I am getting too old to be able to enjoy the music scene like I use to. I finally quit listening to music and just turned on talk radio. In my thinking talk radio is a sound alike to radio preachers. LOL So we finally have a turn of events. The world is finding out that people like to listen and think at the same time. Well, some people do anyways. They are starting to entertain and influence like the Church has done for years.

Why do you hate it all? I don't know enough about it now days to speak intelligently about it. I do listen to K-Love when my son gets into the car because he turns my radio to it as soon as he can. But I don't pay much attention to it. It all sounds the same to me. The guys voices are too soft now days and it nausiates me. I would much more rather listen to Pink Floyd.

Today on my way up North to Marion, Indiana I listened to the Cathedral Quartet. On the way home tonight I listened to the American Boy Choir album Hymns. I don't think I have purchased a Christian album since the mid 90's. And all my old stuff is enough for me.

I take that back. I have purchased my middle son all the Hillsong CD's. And I have to listen to them if he is in the car and I have my Zune. I don't even know who any of the recent artists are for the most part. We had a discussion about one of the most recent artists on the PB within the last week and I have already forgotten his name. LOL

Sounds a little bit like Hetfield. Nice beginning riff and cool drums... Has somewhat of a Megadeath sound with Dave Mustaine.

To be honest I'd rather listen to Master of Puppets or And Justice for All...

I really don't care for to many Christian bands though... The reason why because they promote themselves as a Christian band or Christian musician. Why not be a Musician who's a Christian, etc... Plus as Randy said the males in Christian bands or Christian music are so whiny and effeminate.

What makes a band truly unique and good is "distinction". If you listen to all great rock bands they have a distinctive sound that no other band has.

Back in the 80's this was unique and unheard of...

Listen at 4:15
