| | Hi Ralph -
Well, they aren't Jewish - they are a Christian church. You should
know, though, that their pastor, Steve Schlissel, is among the
men who today are promoting some dangerous ideas regarding justification.

[i]Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.

Does anyone else think that it says something that Ralph, who is not in the U.S., and would not be expected to know anything about the current controversy in U.S. Reformed circles, looks at that website, and concludes that it is Jewish and not Christian?

Act 15:1 And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.
strange how history has a tendency to repeat itself

| Fred,
I understood him (Ralph) to mean that it was a reformed, messianic (jewish christian) ministry and not a strictly Jewish synagouge.
The main website says "A Reformed Ministry Serving Jesus Christ in the Metropolitan area". That would be hard to miss.

Thank you brothers for the warning.
But i saw at the stament of faith, that they hold to :The Belgic Confession of Faith ,The Canons of Dordt & The Heidelberg Catechism.
Can someone explain me more about the fact why it is dangerous ? Thanks.

| The church is independent and not in submission to any ecclesiastical body, the pastor holds to the NPP (denies double imputation) and Federal Vision hyper-covenantalism, and they reject the RPW outright.

Ralph, I think you will find the pastor Steve Schlissel has a somewhat eclectic (for lack of a better term) approach to the Reformed faith. Similar to Doug Wilson, I don't believe that he has had any seminary training and operates independently, so he is free from any sort of formal ecclesiastical oversight. Also, as others have mentioned, he is a big promoter of some of the ideas behind the Federal Vision.
