An important work for understanding the historic ante-denominational Presbyterian position as to the catholicity of the church and its membership. Highly recommended. Best read in association with Owen's work, which essentially represents the modern post-denominational Presbyterian position.

Wow, that's cool what they're scanning and making available on Google Books.

Have you found a lot of other Reformed works there Andrew?

Yes, lots! Check out the links manager or the literary forum. Lots of good 17th, 18th and 19th century Reformed works.

I was just perusing that the other day and realized how rich our links content was. I want to thank you personally for making it such a fantastic resource.

I hadn't followed a lot of the links though and didn't realize they were on Google.

I knew Amazon was doing work like that (and to a lesser extent Google) but hadn't realized they had scanned a ton of Reformed works. Was that done by their folks or do others contribute to their "library" by scanning works themselves?

Thanks, Rich. I'm just reaping and organizing the benefits of the labor of others. There is an older thread on how Google is going about digitizing books and working with public and private libraries to do so. I have found the Internet Archive also to be a tremendous resource for making old, previously inaccessible, Reformed works available online (for example, all 22 volumes of Thomas Manton's works, the only place online I think where you can find them all; the complete works of Richard Sibbes likewise; William Greenhill's Exposition of Ezekiel; and so forth). It really is amazing how much is now available. The links manager was a really good idea, and I hope my contributions are helpful.
