Immorality and service
Howdy, new to the board.
I have a question for the gents. Over the last few years I've had the displeasure of watching several marriages fall apart or succumb to immorality. In some cases church discipline was in order, in others there was true repentance.
My question is this: if a man was involved in immorality, physical immorality, what does the future hold for him as far as ministry is concerned. I've worked with him and watched his life over the past several years and I've seen the Lord do mighty things with Him. He has grown in stature and in wisdom of the things of God. I am aware of the passages speaking to leadership. What are your thoughts?
Is elder out of the question? How about teaching? Leading small groups?
I have some thoughts on the matter and would appreciate prayerful consideration of this, that I might have more insight for him in the future.
grace and peace...

Those who seek in scholarship nothing more than an honored occupation with which to beguile the tedium of idleness I would compare with those who pass their lives looking at paintings" -John Calvin
