| | | A.W. PINK - THE ANTICHRIST WILL BE JUDAS REINCARNATED THE ANTICHRIST WILL BE JUDAS REINCARNATED by A.W. Pink
I know Pink might be colloquial in his phraseology, and not literal, but would you agree or disagree with A.W. Pink's statement above? What do you make of his article?

I found this very interesting and surprised no one had comment.
Is Pink just way out in left field of do others concur with him on this?
Is he serious when he says stuff like, "śJudas then was the Devil incarnate, just as the Lord Jesus was God incarnate, Christ Himself said so, and we dare not doubt His word."ť

I'm not sure he even maintained this position in his senior years... I would have to have an elder instruct me on the matter who knows A.W. Pink's writings better than I do.
I know he made some changes in his eschatology. For starters, he was a former dispensationalist who repudiated dispensationalism, but I do believe this affirmation came after he repudiated dispensationalism.

Ryan,
I am not sure of the date that he rejected dispensationalism, but this article on Judas was one of his early writings. He began writing his Studies in Scriptures in 1922, from which most of his writings are derived, and this article was written in 1923, I believe.
He was converted in 1908 and studied at Moody briefly. I suppose he have picked up dispensationalism while there.
There are a variety of authors that hold to this view, although I am not aware of any that would be mainstream. More commonly suggested is that Judas stood as a type of antichrist.

If Judas was the devil, how could the devil enter into him? And if Judas was the devil incarnate, then wouldn't it be a resurrection of Judas for him to come back? At least it solves the reincarnation problem....

In one of his letters he wrote later in life, Pink said "I do not recommend you read my book on the Anti-Christ..."
This sort of thing might be why he said that. He turned a-mil later in life.

Maybe he wrote it after he had fallen down and hit his head!

Stuff like this helps explain why some theologians wish their notes to be destroyed upon their death.
Now I do not have published works from my former days, but looking back to some of my notes from my pre-reformed days I think to myself, "śI sure hope no one reads these later and thinks this was my position on these topics."ť Some of it is embarrassing. In Pink´s case, his former work was already published and distributed.
