| | | Maclaren on the Nature of Sin
I have a quotation up at my "Reiterations" blog by Alexander Maclaren (1826-1910). It is an excerpt from a sermon on Genesis 4:7 titled "What Crouches at the Door." Even though the blog quote is long, the entire sermon excerpt runs 10 pages in the edition I copied it from. It was originally published in Maclaren's Expositions of Holy Scripture, volume 1 (1904).
It's a rumination on the nature of sin, based on the Genesis passage, and is an excellent example of why I appreciate Maclaren so much. Too bad most of his stuff has been out of print for years.
I hope you enjoy it.

I thought you were talking about Brian McClaren.

I missed the name "Alexander" at the beginning of the post and got worried because I thought everything you were saying was about Brian McClaren.

One can benefit greatly from the writings of Alexander Maclaren.
I can't say the same about Brian McClaren.
