| | | Is this a Confessional Statement?
Since no one responded to my question regarding the Confessionalism of this Statement in the Sabbath Thread I am reposting it to see if anyone wants to take a stab at it. Is this a Confessional Statement or not? If it is how so, and if isn't how so? I already understand that unless you have read the book you may not know the context however based on its own what do you think? "It is fitting that the new covenant radically alters the Sabbath perspective. The current believer in Christ does not follow the Sabbath pattern of the people of the old covenant. He does not first labor six days, looking hopefully toward rest. Instead, he begins the week by rejoicing in the rest already accomplished by the cosmic event of Christ's resurrection. Then he enters joyfully into his six days of labor, confident of success through the victory which Christ has already won."
O Palmer Robertson in "Christ of the Covenants."
Would anyone consider this quote an unconfessional statement?

It seems to be confessional. The Lord's Day is the first day of the week, and Robertson seems to still be maintaining that the Lord's Day is in fact a day of rest. I think he is merely emphasizing that we rest on the first day of the week and then enter into our labor, whereas the Jews worked looking forward to the Sabbath rest.
*Edit* - While the particular emphasis he is making is not in the confessions (as far as I'm aware), he doesn't deny anything in the confessions.

It is absolutely Confessional. It is correct and Biblical.
