| Voetian/Cocceian Question
I need to temporarily borrow the intellect of someone who is thoroughly read in the Dutch theological tradition -- particularly, the covenantal understanding of both the Voetian and Cocceian camps. I am very limited in my knowledge of the Dutch tradition, being limited to reading Voetius, some De Moor and van Mastricht, a Brakel, the secondary sources on Cocceius, and finally the other big names, such as Witsius and Gomarus; and I have almost no knowledge of the mainstream theological trends, however.
Within the mainstream of the two camps, do you find any predicable divergent pattern in general as to how the two parties will understand 1.) The internal/external distinctions and 2.) The Cov. of Grace/Cov. of Redemption distinction, or lack thereof? I am looking for either how methodology influences content here, and also if there were divergent patterns with respect to these items for any other reasons entirely.
I have a few other questions, but will postpone asking while waiting for a student of Dutch theology to chime in.
