I already had Hodge's set. But I finally ordered W.G.T. Shedd's Dogmatic Theology, and it came on Friday, last week. I was so excited when I got home from work and saw the box.

Josh,
What was the grand total on that (w/shipping)? I was thinking of ordering it if it's not too late -I read the abridged version and there were a bunch of times I wished that the subject matter was not cut short -especially when he was making comparisons with Rome and Arminianism, etc.

With the s & h, it was $29.99 - quite a deal for Hodge's 3-volume systematic! (Even though I'm not Josh!)

I ordered it but it has yet to arrive. My copy of "House Divided" did indeed arrive and I have been diving into that! |

It was only 21.99 for me since I have a membership with CBD ($5.00/yr). Membership is really worth it if you are going to buy any reference works or commentaries from them. I got in on Calvin´s complete commentaries for last winter for $100 when they were running a special. I can´t remember how many times I took advantage of their membership specials, and they usually run them on the good reformed reference works that are a must for any reformed library.
I have been building my theological library this past year preparation for seminary. I have probably spent somewhere around $800-1000 over this past year with them, so I have calculated that I have saved hundreds of dollars on the material that I have purchased by taking advantage of their one time offers.

| I plan to read a few short excerpts from different places when I get it, but not go beyond that for now, since I'll probably read my Berkhof and then Calvin before I move on to Hodge, at Matt's advice. Do you agree with that as a good order (with Dabney and Turretin after Hodge)? Where would you see Edwards as fitting into that order?
