Thanks for the links. I wonder why anyone uses Real Audio these days. It is absolutely the worst format. Bad audio, and you have to use that ad-ridden, bloat garbage Real Player.

Ugh.

I've never exactly been impressed with it, but at least it was able to run at all...like many other people who I've seen on various computer forums, ever since I downloaded Windows Media Player 9 it would never work for anything, even after following all the FAQ steps on the site. And just as many people have reported the second problem I had as well...not being able to re-install ANY of the previous versions even after uninstalling 9 and following any "official" instructions again! Even various codes and registry command alterations that people came up with didn't help most people reporting the problems, with only a couple exceptions.

So while I'm still searching for a "satisfactory" player for the long-run, right now I much prefer Real Player to the complete mess that Media Player has been ever since the latest beta and full versions came out awhile back - including 10 and 11.

P. S. Did you ever get the e-mail I sent you a couple weeks ago?

Chris,

All I can say is that you have no idea what kind of adware Real Player is putting on your system, and how it is messing up other things. I can't even get Real to run without prompting me for a "tell us what kind of underwear you have" privacy invasion form.

I haven't had any problems with WMP since version 6. But there is a very good free player called WinAmp. Try that.

I did get your email - it came in while I was switching PCs, and got stuck in a line of 200+ emails (seriously). I'll reply back this week.

Blessings,
