| | | Paul Johnson's Modern Times?
Has anyone read this? I read his book on American history, which was good except for a few major faux pas (e.g., he thought Jonathan Edwards was an Arminian; he thought Confederate Generals Joe Johnston and Albert Sydney Johnston were the same person! ).
Does Modern Times cover mainly European history (which is what I am looking for?)

It is OK. I read it 20 years ago so my memory is a bit hazy.
I prefer "Birth of the Modern" it is much better in my opinion.

| I have read books that have said John Wesley was a Calvinist!!! I am sure he would have been horrified.

Johnson's church history book was a jaded secular perspective on church history. I certainly don't trust his perspective.

I read Modern Times in the late 1980s. I found it excellent.
