Packer's Non-Existent Book

Sigh...

I'm still patiently waiting for the publication of the systematic theology that J. I. Packer isn't writing...

Sigh...

He published "Concise Theology" a few years ago. Do you know it?

Yes, I know it. And it's good.

But, like a lot of people who like Packer, I've been waiting for the 3-volume, hardback, 10,000 page (heh) tome that would be both his magnum opus and his masterpiece.

Ah, well - I can console myself with his 4-volume collection of his many fugitive pieces...

Since it took JI Packer 40 years to realize what Martyn Lloyd-Jones was trying to tell him in the 1960's, i.e. his Anglican communion was irretrievably compromised by liberalism, could it be that we should be thankful that he has not written such a theological tome?
