Hemingway was unimpressed. F. Scott Fitzgerald was very impressed. Although I squirm to put such a string of words together, Hemingway was right on this point.

I thought it was an interesting commentary on Jazz Age America.

I enjoyed reading it, although at times I squirmed a bit during the Muck-and-Mire parts of the book. I was fascinated by "The eyes of Dr. TJ eckleberg" being FSF's representation of Mr. Wilson looking to the old Bilboard Advertisement as the only god that sees everything in that debauched time.  | |
