| | | Best Intro-Intermediate Spanish Grammars
I can read Spanish on what amounts to a 2nd - 3rd grade level. I know the roots of about 4 other languages as well. I know the basics to Spanish but am very, very rusty. What is the best way, besides going to Mexico, to sharpen up?

I checked out Juntos 2 from the library. I think that is what I used in high school.

Read Spanish novels (topics you would like to read about) and find some native speakers to have conversations with. It will help build not only the language but also the cultural imagery and nuances reflected in the language.

I do have a grammar to reference every now and then, though.

Jacob, for lucid explanations, sensitivity to the difference between Spain and Latin America, and just general helpfulness, I don't think you can beat Marcial Prado's Practical Spanish Grammar and Advanced Spanish Grammar .
That is what I got for Heidi when we knew we were moving to Mexico. A good way to increase familiarity is to watch Spanish shows or turn on Spanish subtitles on movies.
