What Missions to support?

We have a "mission of the month" where the body is asked to financially support the said mission...The problem we are having is determining what is a "Christ centered" mission, for lack of a better term, vs a secular mission. SOme people want to support everything from the local zoo, to the cancer society, heart association etc etc. I am on the side of only supporting Christians 100%

I would appreciate any input anyone may have please.

We have missionaries on this board, if that helps.

The church isn't a social club. If it is raising funds, the funds should go to promote the mission of the church. Few zoos are preaching the gospel to the lost, so I would count them out.

How about Christian Aid? Thy support missionaries who are native to their country in which they are ministering. Your $30 will support a person for a whole month. For the price of sending an American, you can support 50 or so of their missionaries, who are already living there, and they already know the language, know the culture, and are used to functioning on thier economic level. And, they are trained in and for the gospel.
