What is Biblical Forgiveness?

Hi,

I was wondering about this. Is Blanket forgiveness biblical or should one need to wait to be asked to forgive?

what is 'blanket' forgiveness? Why should one have to wait and ask to be forgiven if they have hurt you?

Matthew 6:14-15

For IF ye forgive men their trespasses, Your Heavenly Father will also forgive you: BUT, if ye forgive NOT men their trespasses, neither will your Heavenly Father forgive your trespasses."

Matthew 5:23-24

"Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the alter, and there rememberest that thy brother has ought against thee; leave there thy gift before the alter, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother and then come offer thy gift."

Matthew 18:15

"Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: If He shall hear thee, thou hast gained a brother."

All of these verses tell us that as Christians, WE are to go to them...there is nothing about waiting on them to come and seek forgiveness first.
