Rest in Peace Pastor Elliott

Rev. Edwin P. Elliott Jr. was called from this life today at 5:11 PM, after a brief illness. On Friday night he suffered a massive heart attack around 11:00 PM and never regained consciousness. The rescue squad did manage to revive him, but the dammage to his heart and brain were too severe to survive.

Please pray for his family, for the church in Manassas, VA and for all the people whose lives he touched in so many ways.

Well done good and faithful servant, you have entered the joy of our Lord!

Was he related to you? Dad, Granddad, or Uncle? I am sorry for the loss and may God comfort all who loved him.

Adam: The death of your uncle Edwin is a great personal loss to me. I'd count him among the half dozen or fewer men who have most influenced my understanding and practice of ministry. Please share my condolences with the family. I'm sorry I will not be able to make it from Idaho for any funeral or memorial. I thank God for Edwin's great love for Christ's Church and those involved in her ministry.

My condolences as well Adam; there was an earlier prayer thread on this which you could not see given your post count; you should have access now.

My niece and her husband, who moved to Manassas this summer, have been attending Dr. Elliot's church. They told me he was such a "kind and welcoming" man, and they are numbed by this loss. We're praying for the family, friends, and church members there.

May you and your family know God's comfort. Dr. Elliott was a great blessing to the Church at large, and I trust his ministry will continue to bear rich fruit for Christ's kingdom.

On behalf of the Elliott family and the Reformed Presbyterian church in Manassas I want to thank everyone for their kind rememberances and their prayers. This separation is only a temporary one and will be followed by a long series of joyful reunions in Gods providence.

Thank you all.
