Well, I am a member of an ABA (missionary) baptist church. Judging by our doctrinal statement, much of what the church was founded on is reformed. However, based on what is presented to the congregation, I would say that it is not reformed. I say this mainly because:
- We are told we must accept Christ and can freely choose not to.
- Man is represented as the ultimate deciding factor in his salvation, not God. Again we are told the choice is our to make. God will accept any that make the choice. So ultimately man is presented as the one who decides his destiny not God.
Good question though. I think most of the ABA churches are probably going to hold these same views (at least the ones I have come in contact with). Obviously that does not mean God is not working there just as much as anywhere else. It just means that the reformed doctrines are not being taught and the congregation therefore in a sense lacking.
