Wow...violence and recession? One doesn't need a word from God to predict that.

I guess that means we can rest easy this year. That is except for those in the news business what will be downsized out of a job.

Last year, Robertson predicted that a terrorist act, possibly involving a nuclear weapon, would result in mass killing in the United States. Noting that it hadn't come to pass, Robertson said, "All I can think is that somehow the people of God prayed and God in his mercy spared us."
Ha! Right, Pat. That's exactly what happened.

And he predicts a stock-market crash by 2010? Since when is he allowed to make predictions within a gap of 10 years?? I thought this was just for the coming year! Well, I predict that America will be involved in another war within the next 50 years.

At the new year, a lot of people take some time to reflect on the year that's coming to an end. I wonder if Pat Roberson does that. You would think that, after a few missed predictions, he'd re-evaluate things a little.

I don't know any of Pat's following, but it'd be real interesting to interview a few of them and ask their thoughts about these missed predictions...like, when he comes up with a new one, do you REALLY believe its going to happen?

he has a full-proof system in place. if he's wrong, he can simply say "i guess people prayed hard enough against and God granted us mercy."

i wonder if that's what he says that about the time God told him that he'd be President of the United States.

Did he really give that as one of his predictions?

i don't have a reference, but i know he said something along those lines (if not explicitly) when he was running for president in the late 80s.

Now you too can make predictions like Pat Robertson. With this NEW all natural and affordable vision kit you can see into the near future in vivid and glorious technocolor. Amaze your friends, go on TBN, write a book, the sky is the limit when you try our "Pat's BLEPPO Buttons". 'Bleppo' is the ancient and mystical greek word for 'I see' and you surely will when you use these mighty herbal messengers from Eden. These are not sold in stores, order now. Accept no imitations.

(Warning: Dried peyote buttons are not legal in some states. May cause dizziness, nausea and feelings of megalomania and endorsements of presidential candidates you wouldn't normally touch with a ten foot cattle prod. Do not use with alcohol.)

Deu 18:17-22 And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. (18) I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. (19) And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. (20) But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. (21) And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? (22) When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

Is it true that Pat Robertson has backed Rudy Guiliana for the Republican nomination?

Yes Daniel, it's true.

"It is my pleasure to announce my support for America's Mayor, Rudy Giuliani, a proven leader who is not afraid of what lies ahead and who will cast a hopeful vision for all Americans." ---- Pat Robertson

After it worked out so well for America to have a serial adulterer in the White House during the 90s, maybe Pat thinks we need one for the next period of our history? Politics aside, Rudy and Newt would be two politicos I could never vote for. Moral perfection I'm not looking for, but yikes! Can't we find somebody with a little more ethical consistency?

As for Pat's record of predictive accuracy, it is right up there with the headline that Dewey beats Truman, the dismissive comment about a world wide market for about five computers, and the Newsweek cover in the 70s announcing the consensus among climatologists about a global chill coming.

BTW, I feel kindof good that Pat was wrong about getting nuked in 2007.

Is he out of his mind! Rudy supports abortion and is (IMO) a Facist (not a Nazi). In that report it says that Rudy hopes he and the evangelicals can overlook their differences on these issues! What overlook issues that involve killing innocent people?!

Actually, after a few months of reading posts on PB, these would represent fairly mild words on the PB for the ECUSA, PCUSA, UMC.

Who did Pat say would win the Iowa caucuses? Fox just announced Huckabee and Obama won. I don't remember Pat predicting THAT!

Isn't that what happened with Jonah? He said the Nineveh would be overthrown and it didn't happen.
