Thread: John Piper is coming to town!

The Desiring God National Conference is going to be held in March, here in San Luis Obispo! And from what I understand, the tickets are really stinking cheap. So if any PB-ers want to come to SLO, there are plenty of extra beds here for you!

Certainly better than Santa Claus coming to town!

Enjoy the conference, Dan. I'll eventually get to one in Minnesota, since I live in neighboring Wisconsin. I think it is well worth the time.

Eeeeeee! When exactly is it?! If it's over a weekend, then I could probably go (school). My brother lives in SLO, so I'd already have a place to stay.

I think Piper is doing a "Don't Waster Your Life" series and then a special engagement for college students.

He's an engineering student at Cal Poly (only the best ). Is there a good assembly in that area? Because he still hasn't found one. Well, I'm not sure he'd be a regular attender, he wasn't very constant even in Bakersfield. Something to pray for, because I doubt his salvation. His name is Matt, by the way. 6'0" redhead nerd with a red truck.

I'd like to go. I'm from SLO county, so it would be cool to visit with some old friends while I'm there.

No, I don't. I currently go to the junior college here in SLO, but I just applied to Cal Poly.

Well, if you ever need a room mate, my brother is rooming with another engineer and they're about to bring in another good engineer from Bakersfield College, so they might make room for one more. It would be a lot cheaper and you'd be with three other engineers who also spend their Friday nights with their noses in the books. Let me know if you get in to CP!

It was a verrrryyyy small house. For more than a year, I slept under a bunk bed on the floor. There wasn't even enough room to sit upright.

Goodness, I wasn't too far off. At least you had a warm shower and it was cheap. You're not still living with a ton of room mates, are you?

I now rent a room from a family who I go to church with. So, I guess I currently have six roommate, and I just learned that there may be an additional two more pretty soon.

Oh that's nice! If I was to live somewhere far away from home, I'd want to be able to stay with church family.
