Herbert Francis Pink (1920-2008)

Some of you may remember my mentioning awhile back the cancer illness of my friend and colleague Herb Pink. Herb was a Ruling Elder in the OPC for more than 50 years, and we served together on the Session of our late OPC church in East Los Angeles, Beverly OPC, for several years.

Herb went to be with his Lord today, Friday, August 29th, at 7:25 pm. He was 88 years old. He was living in his daughter Susan's home in Ventura, California. He is now re-united with his wife, Irene (to whom he was married for 50 years) and they are both singing God's praise as they stand face to face with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Please pray for Susan and her family, as welll as Herb's son Jim, and his family. The service will probably be at Lake Avenue Congregational Church next Saturday.

Herb was a great guy, and I'll miss him. But I know that I'll see him again.

Herb will finally get to meet his distant relative, A. W. Pink! (Herb's father and A. W.'s father were second cousins.)

Devout souls do not take offence at the depths and difficulties of God's Word, but are, thereby, drawn to intenser contemplation of them. - Alexander Maclaren (1826-1910)
