The whole 116 clique ( Redirecting ) is on tour right now and will be in the MD area on the 8th. Free concert.
It won't be at the most sound church, but the good thing is, they'll get intro'd to some sound theology combined with good lyricism.

| | Thank you Josh. Kerry sent me a PM to let me know, discretely and graciously, that I had got his name wrong. He didn't wish to humiliate me in public or express sarcasm, he is not that kind of fellow. Kerry is a gentleman. Quote:

| | | It was a good show, his music did pique my interest. I did think, however, that the lady who questioned his style of music to possibly have the potential of being a "gateway drug" was an interesting point and legitimate point. I would not support the music in worship on the Lord's Day, no matter how theologically correct. Praise God for his dramatic conversion!!!

Praise God for his dramatic conversion!!! | The 'gateway drug' question was a legit one....only if the reason you listen is for the music and the beats and not the content.
If you're listening, for example, to shai linne's song Justified (which is an exposition of Romans 3:12-23), or Trip Lee's "Behold the Spirit" (which talks about the role of God the Holy Spirit) it's hard to go from that to Weezy or 50 Cent and still feel like a believer.
It's a bit like everything else.... you can use a lot of P&W as a 'gateway drug' to listening to nice 80's pop like...Thompson Twins.
Sunday morning, however, I'll have to agree with you. I think Marcus would agree too...I might be able to hit him up next week when he's in town and ask.
In fact, Lord willing, I might be able to get all the guys on video for YouTube interviews. |
