| | ****ATTN**** Moderator's Note: This is a message to all you lovely PB members who have the gift of hospitality and are so eager to welcome each and all to the PB to the point of making welcoming threads for all seemingly new comers (I myself may have been guilty of this a time or two in the past):
1. Just because a certain part of the forum says "So and So" is the newest Member, does not necessarily mean that said person has been approved for membership. Thus, in posting a welcome thread for that person, you may be putting the cart before the horse.
2. The forum was specifically changed from Welcome to the Puritan Board to Introduce Yourself, so that newcomers can introduce themselves if they're so inclined. We do this for a few reasons: a. The new member may want to just continue to lurk and not have to feel the pressure of responding to a welcome thread.
b. Continuous welcome threads tend to knock more substantial discussions off the "Today's Posts" quicker. 3. Because this is neither a Democracy, Representative Republic, OR a Monarchy. It's a Dictatorship...a very benign one, though. | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
