Hello all, I discovered this board today and was happy to join!
We are currently members of an American Baptist church in Uniontown, PA.
I work for Computer Sciences Corporation in WV (Fairmont).
My wife Janet and I will celebrate 28 years of marriage this Saturday.
We moved to Lancaster County, PA in 1986 after I completed a BA in History at Houghton College. I taught High School history and coached at Lancaster Christian School until 1990.
Christian school salary wasn't up to the demands of a growing family so I parlayed my interest and ability in computer programming into a new career (I'm a Senior Systems Engineer now and have been for 12 years).
I served 4 years active duty in the US Air Force from 1980-1983, completed the BA in 2 1/2 years, and joined the Air National Guard, where I served another 6 years. I transferred from the Air Guard to the Army Guard where I attended Officer Candidate School, Armor School, and served as a Tank Platoon Leader, Scout platoon Leader, OCS instructor, and Infantry Company Commander over 11 years.
I retired in June 2001.
I'm currently halfway through an MS in Legal Studies: Homeland Security through California university of PA.
I'm a certified Flight Instructor and have a bit under 600 hours.
We have three children -- Melissa, Heather, and Nathaniel. The girls are married, and Nathaniel ships off to US Army basic and AIT August 17th. He will return in November and attend Cal U and ROTC and plans to be commissioned as an Infantry Officer (No, I did not push him!)
Janet has a pet sitting business and works part time at a local greenhouse.
We enjoy motorcycling (I commute 47 miles each way -- when its nice on my 2001 Yamaha FZ-1), tandem bicycling, canoeing, and spending as much time as possible with our grandaugher Lucy (now 19 months!)
We live on 4 acres in an 1830 restored farmhouse in New Salem, PA.

Welcome aboard!
Given your status as a former member of the USAF, your status as a retired officer, and the fact that you are a CFI, I'll over look that seriously bad reference to the Steelers.
Seriously, welcome. Great to have you here.

Don't mind Lawrence, keep the Myron Cope/"Jack Splat" references coming!
Good to have you on the board.

I work in Fairmont -- but one more day of commuting would drive me crazy -- so crazy I might join the twelve people who actually care about the Browns.
Thanks for the welcome in spite of my support of a superior football team! -----Added 7/30/2009 at 11:33:20 EST----- Quote:

I was involved with the receipt of the first ALCM & W-80 warhead. Somehow, these formerly classified pictures were posted to the web:
I'm in the pictures -- just not really visible, as I was the crew chief.

Hi!! I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, but moved to VA three years ago. Which means, I've spent three years trying to move back (kidding...sort of), and we return home every school holiday, as my husband is a school teacher. It's great to see another Steeler fan...I think there might be three of us now! Welcome!!

Well, we are transplants (moved here 7 years ago for work) and learned right quick that the only way to avoid exile was to join the Steeler nation.
I grew up in NY and NJ and thought NY fans were rabid.
Pittsburgh fans are rabid in a supporting way -- NY fans can't wait to boo.
My wife is from SC. Her father is a retired SBC pastor (I met her in the mission church my parents attended in upstate NY. She was a PK wearing overalls to chuch -- I thought, "I like her...")
Anyway, we are 14 miles north of the Mason-Dixon. I told her we can't move any further South or she'll escape.

Now wait just a minute. In the OP, Dan never said he was a Steeler fan. All he said was that he was a "New member from Steeler Country" Quote:

Welcome brother!!! I discovered the PB in June. I am new to the Reformed faith but I read as many forums as I can every day and I contribute every day. This is the best Reformed site in my estimation. I am a Presbyterian.
In Grace,
