This is a good place to learn reformed theology and grow in grace toward one another.

I note your subscription to the Westminster Standards- very good.

It has been helpful having had some of the same background to understand reformed theology is, at a minimum:

Calvinism ("five points") + covenant theology + confession of faith

as opposed to the broad evangelicalism of Calvary Chapel and many other communions out there which are:

Arminian influenced + dispensational + no confession

Hey John

It is a pleasure meeting you here!,Our family were at a Calvary here for 10+ years it was a nice beginning for us,It is tough to be there and be in process with a true reformed understanding of God's Word, frustrating and yet very sweet as God opens your spirit to the truth and you begin to see His Glory in our salvation and His Sovereignty over all things, wonderful truth,I will pray for God to bless you and wherever He appoints you that you could grow in the knowledge of Him

God has brought us into a wonderful confessional reformed church in our hometown and I pray he blessed you in the same way on your walk with Him

If you have any questions, need prayer anything PM me

Also we had friends at Santa Fe when Pastor Khan (spelling may be wrong) was there and they are dearly missed,Though they did grew much, they were hostile towards Calvinism.which is what we found at this Calvary and consequently we chose to leave on uncomfortable terms

Blessings to you
Brian

Welcome to PB John! I think something that actually helped me (is helping me) in my transition from CC to Reformed theology is becoming familiar with both systems. I actually went back and read Chuck Smiths books and realized how unbiblical they are. Not to mention the strong sense of eisegesis that he pushes on his books without any real sense of hermeneutics. Make sure you learn things well and tell your CC friends about it in a loving manner. I know many in CC who want more out of what they get in a regular service.

Hello all and thank you for such a warm welcome. I’ve pasted a link to our Calvary Santa Fe, statement of faith below. Were very much looking forward to having James White, Bruce Ware, and Ron Rhodes come later in September to our discernment conference!

By the way, did anyone see James White’s debate with Bill Bryson? I have a signed copy, I’ll let you guess who signed it!

That's funny, some books went missing here, too. They had something to do with being left behind.

Welcome to Calvary Santa Fe
I look forward to dialoguing with each of you on the forums!
By the way, did anyone see James White’s debate with Bill Bryson? I have a signed copy, I’ll let you guess who signed it!

In Him for the Gospel
Yes, I listened to the debate and watched it.

I'm guessing JW.

LOL. Yes. Dr. White signed them. You know how you watch NASCAR for a wreck... My Sunday school children could have handled the word more rightly from "plain reason", imagine that.

But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
Acts 20:24
