new to board from portland, oregon

hello... my name is brandon tussey... i am fairly new to reformed theology (a little over two years) and have been 'lurking' on this board for a few months...i live just outside of portland oregon (gresham)... i have been working on building a solid library of reformed literature from it's roots all the way up to the present... the bad thing about that is that i already have so many books that it would take a few years just to read them all!!! some of my favorite authors so far have been john owen, james m boice, michael horton, rc sproul, ji packer, jc ryle, john calvin, and thomas watson... to be honest, i haven't been attending any church regularly, i've been searching for a good reformed church... so far, intown presbyterian (pca) has been the best one i've been to and, lord willing, i'm going to be worshipping there every lord's day from here on out... i'm here to learn and to contribute in my own small way... thanks for letting me in!!!

"To believe in the power of man in the work of regeneration is the great heresy of Rome, and from that error has come the ruin of the Church. Conversion proceeds from the grace of God alone, and the system which ascribes it partly to man and partly to God is worse than Pelagianism" (The Reformation in England (London, 1962), Vol. 1, p. 98)

The Regulative Principle: Samuel Miller gives a succinct statement of this principle when he writes that since the Scriptures are the “only infallible rule of faith and practice, no rite or ceremony ought to have a place in the public worship of God, which is not warranted in Scripture, either by direct precept or example, or by good and sufficient inference.”

Brandon,
Come see me this Sunday; I'll be lurking around the coffee table. I don't see well, but would like to introduce you if that hasn't happened already.

Check out Cacklewack on this board, he goes to Intown.

to the board and to Intown!
