I want to welcome my buddy Dave to the PB. He's a reformed Baptist and the 'voice crying in the wilderness' at the liberal campus of Beloit College. I am proud to know him and proud to say he's holding his own in that place.
Dave has been a blessing to me for nearly 8 years now. He has a fabulous baritone and a fabulous family.

Hey, guys, I'm real and for real. My ulterior motive for joining was to have you help me locate a quote from J. C. Ryle. Somewhere (in his Expository Thoughts, I believe) he states that, to paraphrase, the doctrine of perseverance is the great common ground between Calvinism and Arminianism. Where is that quote? Anyone know?

Nope. The terms Calvinism and Arminianism appear in it, I'm pretty sure. Another clue: Pastor Ron McKinney cited Ryle on this in an ancient issue of Sword & Trowel.
