| | | Introduction I've been a regular read of the Puritan board for several months now and have appreciated the great conversation and insights that I have encountered. I finally decided to become a member in the hopes that I may be able to make a contribution.
After being a nominal Christian for the first 30 years of my life the Lord awoke in me a realization of the truth of His Word and a strong desire to learn it better. Since that time, roughly 3 years ago, by His grace I have come to an appreciation of the Reformed faith as an accurate interpretation and application of the Bible.
My thanks to the members of the Puritan Board for edifying and advancing my faith.

It always begins by skulking, and assuming a disguise. Its advocates, when together, boast of great improvements, and congratulate one another on having gone greatly beyond the ‘old dead orthodoxy,’ and on having left behind many of its antiquated errors: but when taxed with deviations from the received faith, they complain of the unreasonableness of their accusers, as they ‘differ from it only in words.’ This has been the standing course of errorists ever since the apostolic age. Samuel Miller, Introductory essay, The Articles of the Synod of Dort (1841).

To have laid a production of your own, however poor, upon the altar of art becomes more and more the characteristic of an accomplished civilization. - Abraham Kuyper

No the sign is not from Tom in the Box it's from a blog called 'Crummy Church Signs'. (the author is a Christian but I can't recommend it to all) Apparently it's a real church located in a town called Calvin, but funny none the less. |
