| | | Introducing Dan Dorman Hi everyone.
I've been browsing this forum the last couple days and decided to join it today, so here I am. I am a college student studying engineering at LeTourneau University in Longview, TX. I attend Christ the King OPC here, and I am a member of Pilgrim OPC in Bangor, ME, back home. I had the blessing of growing up in the reformed faith and in the OPC. I also have quite the OPC heritage. My grandfather on my Dad's side graduated from Westminster Seminary, where he was a student of both Murray and Machen, and he has been an OPC pastor for over 50 years. We celebrated his 90th birthday last summer and he is still preaching in the OPC. My grandfather on my mom's side also graduated from Westminster and was a student of Murray. He has been an elder in the OPC for a long time. He grew up in a church in Maine that joined the OPC in it's first few years as a denomination. Also, John Murray's only son, Logan, is my uncle-he married my mom's sister.
More importantly than the reformed heritage I have is the personal grace and work of God in Christ by the Holy Spirit in my life. Because of God's grace, my salvation is my own and not just something I believe because my parents believe it. I have also been studying reformed theology on my own for the past few years and know that it is what I personally believe.
Anyways, I look forward to reading and perhaps contributing to more of the discussions here.
Soli Deo gloria!
-Dan

| | | Welcome,
I knew an old proffessor from Westminister Name John Skilton. He has passed away. It was a privilage to know Dr. Skilton in his latter years. There was a joke on campus that he would run into murray at a door and it would be a stand off as each offered the other entrance first. Ask your grandfathers if they knew him.
