Cool I love this board, so I came out of hiding . . .

I've been a member of this board for a few weeks, but I've just been lurking. Everyone seems so friendly here, so I have decided to come out of hiding.

Seriously, though, I am so thrilled to have found this place. My husband and I are sort-of newly married (16 months) and have been learning about Calvinism and Reformed theology.

I don't know that I can call myself completely "Reformed" right now because I haven't studying every aspect of it. I know more of what I DON'T believe than what I DO believe, if that makes sense. My husband and I are definitely Calvinist (new for him) and after studying Galatians we aren't dispensational anymore . . . but we haven't been taught anything else. So we're slowly learning together.

I am looking forward to the interaction among believers on this board and would appreciate all of your guidance in the Scriptures.

Oh, yeah, and y'all are always having way too much fun on here. Can I join in?

Makes sense to me. As the saying goes, "Been there, done that" or, in my case, "Am there, doing that".

Welcome fellow Greenvillian (or Upstatetian?) - never did get that right. My wife and I have loved living here while at seminary - we will miss the kind of summer weather y'all enjoy in spring. Welcome to the board.

Kim, welcome, so glad you're here, and greetings from one "Upstatian" to another. (I haven't lived in Greenville for awhile, so I guess I can't say I live there)

I'm another one who's "been there, done that". You're not alone. After many years of being reformed, there are still some things that I know I don't believe, but not sure what it is I do believe. It's a wonderful journey!

When heresy rises in an evangelical body, it is never frank and open. It always begins by skulking, and assuming a disguise. Its advocates, when together, boast of great improvements, and congratulate one another on having gone greatly beyond the ‘old dead orthodoxy,’ and on having left behind many of its antiquated errors: but when taxed with deviations from the received faith, they complain of the unreasonableness of their accusers, as they ‘differ from it only in words.’ This has been the standing course of errorists ever since the apostolic age. Samuel Miller, Introductory essay, The Articles of the Synod of Dort (1841).
