| | howdy I've been a member here for going on 3 months now, drawn here by the discussion of Federal Vision in the LA Presbytery of the PCA.
As my signature says, I'm a ruling elder in the PCA church in Shreveport, LA.
My wife Becky is a retired Spanish teacher, and we have 4 grown kids, 3 daughters and a son. Our oldest daughter is married with three daughters. Our son is newly married.
I was a lawyer in Texas for 33 year before accepting a sensitive position with a federal agency 2 years ago. I love my work.
In my former law practice, I focused on bankruptcy work and disability cases. I used to do quite a bit of religious-liberty defense work, like defending home-schoolers back in the 80's. That work is discussed in A Home School History Lesson, by Tim Lambert, President of the Texas Home school Coalition.
I was also a credentialed Texas Mediator and an Arbitrator certified by the Better Business Bureau and National Association of Securities Dealers.
On April 26, 1969, I became a Christian while serving as a young officer in the USAF in Massachusetts. I was taught Calvinism early on and in 1976 discovered the PCA. I served as an elder in the Colleyville PCA until we moved to Abilene in 1983, where there was no PCA work. We worshipped with the OPC for several years while there.
My main interests are systematic theology and church history.
God bless you all who are seeking to serve Him faithfully.

| | | Welcome Dave. Your name is familiar but I am not sure we've meet. We probably knew some of the same people from the Texas scene. I think I was at Colleyville later part of 1983 and part of 1984.

It always begins by skulking, and assuming a disguise. Its advocates, when together, boast of great improvements, and congratulate one another on having gone greatly beyond the ‘old dead orthodoxy,’ and on having left behind many of its antiquated errors: but when taxed with deviations from the received faith, they complain of the unreasonableness of their accusers, as they ‘differ from it only in words.’ This has been the standing course of errorists ever since the apostolic age. Samuel Miller, Introductory essay, The Articles of the Synod of Dort (1841).

It's a bit difficult to explain. You might click on his profile and click on the link that says, "Find all posts by VirginiaHuguenot." Many of his thousands of posts will be responses to people's inquiries (even some very quirky ones), wherein he has provided references for answers on various arrays of subjects. It's quite ridiculous actually (j/k)! |

| | Welcome to the PB HaigLaw!
I know we've had a few run ins on the board. When I read your into, however, I was dumbfounded. (read that slapped myself) I'm an avid supporter of homeschooling, and lived in Austin for years. I vaguely remember the TEA party. That was a few years after my conversion. It is an esteemed honor to meet you. The history lesson you linked to made my day!! Church History is interesting and exciting, so I'm looking forward to what you have to say. | | The Following User Says Thank You to Grymir For This Useful Post: | |
