| | Hi, Puritan Board!! HI!
My name is Travis, my profile says Gregory but I go by my middle name Travis, so it's not listed on the profile. I put G.T. McClain on my sig. just to further confuse anyone who might be pondering how I should be addressed. Sorry for the confusion!
Anyhow, I just wanted to say hello and thanks to PB for allowing me into the community. As most of the newbies say, I concur that I have been substantially blessed and edified by the content here. Especially the various Theonomy threads which have both informed and confused my limited understanding. Perhaps I shouldn't have introduced myself by attaching the word "Theonomy"?! Oh well, I'll take my chances with you guys.

| | right! Yeah I was raised loosely within the influence of The Church of God(Cleveland). I remember when I joined the Army at 17 yrs old, when they stamped my dog tags I had them put "Pentecostal" for my religious affliliation! I didn't even know what it meant at the time! It's disturbing the diversity in doctrine from church to church when you deal with pentecostal/charismatic churches. That was what kept me from taking Christianity seriously for such a long time. There are some truly godly, sincere, and devout people within these churches, but it just such a mess IMO for a person coming to faith.
At any rate, I thank God for His ordering my steps that I would find the reformed faith!!!! Who knows what could have happened otherwise!!!! I could be speaking in tongues or something!!!! |

It always begins by skulking, and assuming a disguise. Its advocates, when together, boast of great improvements, and congratulate one another on having gone greatly beyond the old dead orthodoxy, and on having left behind many of its antiquated errors: but when taxed with deviations from the received faith, they complain of the unreasonableness of their accusers, as they differ from it only in words. This has been the standing course of errorists ever since the apostolic age. Samuel Miller, Introductory essay, The Articles of the Synod of Dort (1841).
