Hello from stormy NC

Just wanted to introduce myself really quick. My name is Lucas Defalco, but I've gone by the handle "KINGofBLEH" for many years. In case you are curious, there is no special meaning to that name. It was just available, and that's all.

I "professed" belief in Christ at age 6 but lived an unregenerate and rebellious life into my early 30s. During the darkness of a suicidal depression nearly 3 years ago the Holy Spirit illuminated my world and radically changed my passions and worldview. At that time, through the preaching of John Piper, I was introduced to Puritanical writing and theology.

I look forward to continuing my study of the Puritans and learning all I can from this board.

Lucas, greetings and welcome! We needed another Baptist to round out our water polo team. You're welcome to attend our next social mixer where we'll be serving grape juice and sprinkled donuts.

P.S. I'm sorry all. It's Friday!

Isn't it a faux pas to serve grape juice with sprinkled donuts? I'm sure you should use plain glazed.

When heresy rises in an evangelical body, it is never frank and open. It always begins by skulking, and assuming a disguise. Its advocates, when together, boast of great improvements, and congratulate one another on having gone greatly beyond the ‘old dead orthodoxy,’ and on having left behind many of its antiquated errors: but when taxed with deviations from the received faith, they complain of the unreasonableness of their accusers, as they ‘differ from it only in words.’ This has been the standing course of errorists ever since the apostolic age. Samuel Miller, Introductory essay, The Articles of the Synod of Dort (1841).

James, you caught that little twist I added. Good for you. You win a free subscription to "Baptism Monthly." May's issue is. "Immersion: face up or face down?"

Welcome! There are so many North Carolinians on the board... do they get extra credit or something? If so, I want my share, I used to live in Wake Forest, NC.
