Cool Hello from Okinawa, Japan #2

Okinawabones here, seeking God and trying to understand Him beyond 30-minute Sunday morning sermons and often inconsistent Sunday School curricula. Looking for intelligent (but simply-written), loving dialogue about issues that matter. The desired end state is an increased knowledge of God's character and my part in His plan.

I'm a US Marine, stationed in Okinawa with my wife (Okinawamama) and three of our four kids. Our oldest is stateside at NC State University, and the rest of our extended family is spread out across central and western North Carolina.

We've been here since July 08. We're happy to be here, and we've plugged into a church that has met some of our needs- but we're not sure it's where we're supposed to be. So- here I am. As my dw said in her intro, be gentle- I'm a baby Calvinist in a Baptist's body.

Chip,

1. Welcome!
2. You should get in touch with Rich (Semper Fidelis), I think he can point you to a sound church.

It is God that multiplies our sorrows....
God, as a righteous Judge, does it, which ought to silence us under all our sorrows; as many as they are, we have deserved them all, and more: nay, God, as a tender Father, does it for our necessary correction, that we may be humbled for sin, and weaned from the world by all our sorrows; and the good we get by them, with the comfort we have under them, will abundantly balance our sorrows, how greatly soever they are multiplied. - Matthew Henry

There's a Sgt McCarthy and his wife, Rachel, that live near there. They attend Central Baptist too. Rachel is the daughter of one of our elders in SoCal. I'll send you their information.

Lord willing, I'll be TAD to Okinawa in the March timeframe.
