| | | Hello from North Carolina! Hi everyone,
I've been lurking around the PuritanBoard for a few months now and finally decided to register. My name is David Pell and I'm a junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, studying Germanic Languages. I've been a believer for about three years and was introduced to the doctrines of grace about a year and a half ago through reading books from guys like John Piper and Wayne Grudem. Since then I've been devouring books and online materials in a quest to have my understanding of God and the bible become more reformed.
Last semester I left the charismatic non-denominational church I had been attending for my first two years at UNC, then spent the summer in Germany, and am now looking for a local reformed church where I can become a member. My developing convictions have led me to look primarily at the local Presbyterian churches and I am spending the majority of my time visiting the OPC and RPCNA congregations in my area. I would like to begin the membership process at one of these two churches by the end of this semester.
The PuritanBoard has been of incalculable benefit to me since I first came across it and I am very excited about getting to know everyone!

Dave, We've been meaning to have you over sometime. Email my husband, we will have to set up a time! Although, it will have to be after we have the new baby!

Its advocates, when together, boast of great improvements, and congratulate one another on having gone greatly beyond the ‘old dead orthodoxy,’ and on having left behind many of its antiquated errors: but when taxed with deviations from the received faith, they complain of the unreasonableness of their accusers, as they ‘differ from it only in words.’ This has been the standing course of errorists ever since the apostolic age.
