Hello from Kansas

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Just browsing through the threads has already blessed me greatly. I've noticed a couple scholars so far that post here regularly. Not to mention many elders and godly laymen. I'm sure my time spent here will be well worth it.

I am a life long Kansan who has spent all but 6 of his 32 years living in the Wichita area. I was converted a little over a year ago after having spent about ten years in Roman Catholicism and have been greatly encouraged by the godly leadership and fellowship at Evangel PCA in Wichita.

A Blessed Advent to All Here,

Zack Flummerfelt
El Dorado, KS

So very glad to hear of your conversion from Rome. May you always cling to Christ, who is the only savior for poor sinners.

Reformed folk aren't very thick on the ground in KS. I was born and raised there - lots of Baptists and Pentecostals of various sorts - and mainline liberal denominations and Catholics, but not too many conservative Presbys when I lived there. I lived in Southeast KS. Welcome!

You're the DTK then. I look forward to reading your works on Scripture in due course. Believe it or not I use to cringe when I heard your name just a couple of years ago. Names like James White, William Webster, Eric Svendsen and so on were like fingers on a chalkboard.

Hello neighbor. Lovely wife too. Let me guess...the Macaroni Grill..is the backdrop of your avatar photo. I use to be able to say that I had eaten at every restaurant in Wichita but I can't keep up anymore. Couldn't afford it if I could. Hope to see you around sometime.

Kansas has a very pietistic, moralistic background. From Cary Nation to the Methodist pioneers, Kansas has a very peculiar past. Almost 60 years of prohibition and not 10 like most other states. LOL

Good try! I actually used to bartend at Macaroni Grill during my college days. The backdrop you see is the Uptown Bistro.

Hope to see you around as well! Maybe at a local reformed conference? I have attended the yearly conference that Evangel hosts.

I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but I am happy you've come out of the Roman communion. It is my prayer that the beauty and glory of Christ's person, and the perfection of His work on behalf of sinners, will become more and more precious to you as you pray, read the Scriptures, and hear them proclaimed each Lord's day in the corporate worship of our Triune God, and then communicate to others your love to Christ Jesus.
