You sure made a big move. Oneness Pentecostalism to Orthodox Trinitarian.
Did your new church accept you baptism?

Did your new church accept you baptism?
| Well, it's a bit of a long story. I was baptized at a Trinitarian WOF church as a child before my parents got involved in the UPCI.
As a child, I was told repeatedly by the UPCI that I had to be rebaptized in the Jesus-only formula, but I never stopped being Trinitarian (and frequently got into huge feuds with the UPCI leadership about it), and ultimately, I never complied. After I left the UPCI at age 17, I wandered around in Charismatic churches for a while, getting yet another Trinitarian baptism (just mostly because I resented my WOF baptism) before I ended up in the OPC.
One can argue that the second baptism was unnecessary (I'm not entirely sure), but those groups are in the habit of rebaptizing frequently, so it didn't occur to me to worry about that at the time. But regardless, when I arrived in Reformed churches (5 years ago), it was a non-issue, since I had never had a Oneness baptism and had already had two Trinitarian ones.

Welcome Caroline. I poked around your blog and your story of growing up Pentecostal was very sobering (though I loved reading and praise God for the ending!). It almost makes me thankful for my laissez-faire moderate Baptist upbringing, which I never thought I'd say! Glad you've joined us, and hope this board can be of use to you.

This is the great reason why so many Christians, who will certainly go to heaven—do walk in darkness, and lie down in sorrow." - Thomas Brooks |
