| | | Greetings from Shreveport, LA
Hey guys (and gals),
This is my first post although I joined the board about a month ago. I was not too sure where to start, so I just thought I would introduce myself since I saw a clever forum entitled, “Introduce Yourself.”
I was raised in dispensational Arminian-style SBC churches here in the Bible belt my whole life, where religion is commonplace and there is a church on every corner. My parents were/are faithful Christians who faithfully modeled a marriage that testified to the truth of the gospel. Through them, and the church community, I understood the validity of the gospel message, although I did not embrace it. I made a few professions of faith throughout my life, yet lived an openly rebellious and heathen lifestyle. It was not until I was 21 when the Lord really began to convict me of my sin and my desperate need for our Savior. Ever since then, slowly but surely, the Lord has been/is transforming my life by the power of the gospel.
I was first introduced to the Reformed faith through studying apologetics. I had gotten involved in listening/discussing/reading objections to the Christian faith from atheists and skeptics. I began to learn about the different schools of apologetics and was drawn towards the presuppositional method. Also, during this time, I had been heavily drawn towards the preaching and teaching of men like John Piper and R.C. Sproul. I wrestled with the five points for about nine months before embracing them, and after another year embraced the Reformed faith completely.
I am now currently in a PCA church in Shreveport, LA where I work part-time (it is a relatively small church) with the youth.
Anyways, glad to be here! (I tried to make this as short as possible.)
In Christ,
Brady

Its amazing how you can find people to converse with on the internet who are either a continent away or across the street.
