    Greetings from Cleveland TN

Howdy from Cleveland TN! Just north of Chattanooga, just south of Knoxville and home of the Church of God (don't go there...just don't do it, LOL). Can any of you fine folks recommend a PCA church in the area? I have every kind of Presbyterian known to man except PCA here it seems. I'm picky.

Also, has anyone ever heard of Cumberland Presbyterians? It's my understanding that they eschew presdestination (which means I won't go there either).

I've been a Believer 35 years now. I've watched the Church at Large slide into an apostasy of near apocalyptic proportion, so I am real careful about where I step and where I enter.

Welcome! The Cumberland Presbyterians eschew a whole lot of sound doctrine... not to be recommended.

You ought to be able to find some PCA churches in Chattanooga and a little further south. Are you able to drive that far?

Grant, Almighty God, that as thou hast deigned to choose us before the foundations of the world were laid, and included us in thy free adoption when we were the children of wrath and doomed to utter ruin, and afterwards embraced us even from the womb, and hast at length favoured us with a clearer proof of thy love, in calling us by thy gospel into a union and communion with thy only-begotten Son, -- O grant, that we may not be unmindful of so many and so singular benefits, but respond to thy holy calling, and labour to devote ourselves wholly to thee, and labour, not for one day, but for the whole time designed for us here, both to live and to die according to thy good pleasure, so that we may glorify thee to the end, through our Lord Jesus Christ. I'll join in the recommend staying away from Cumberland Presbyterians. You can find better PCUSA churches out there...

Chattanooga looks to be about 30 miles away - a lot of good options there.

It looks like the Cleveland church is the only closer PCA option
    Trinity PCA Cleveland TN Home

There is a smaller one in Sweetwater
    140 Starrett Street
Sweetwater, TN 37874 (no web page)

Looks like there are OPC congregations in Cookeville, Chattanooga, and Maryville - not much help; and I didn't spot any ARPs in the area.

Welcome! Cornerstone OPC in Chattanooga would be the closest of the OPC's. I've heard great things about the pastor, Calvin Keller. If you mean what I think you mean about being careful where you step, an OPC is going to be as safe as or safer than your average PCA.

There is nothing more ugly than a Christian orthodoxy without understanding or without compassion.

Trinity Presbyterian is in "Cleaveland" Somewhere BoldBeliever. It's a fairly new church. The pastor is the son of our Pastor @ Covenant Presbyterian in East Brainerd ( Chattanooga Area ). Phillip Caines is the pastor.
