| | Another hello from the Memphis, TN area!
Hi!
My husband and I have actually enjoyed lurking here for about 2 years now.
I live in N MS, just south of Collierville, TN. My family is involved in an OPC church plant there. These are exciting days for us! Lord willing, we should have our interim pastor with us soon!
I am a native Floridian, who spent my JR/HS years in Chattanooga, TN, married to a Dutch man, raised as an MK in Irian Jaya, Indonesia (now Papua) by a French mother and Dutch father. He is a carpenter/builder and we have a cabinet shop/construction company here.
The Lord has blessed us with 6 children and I homeschool them all. My youngest just turned 4 and my oldest is a senior this year, so we are beginning a new chapter of life next year!
The Lord has used many discussions here on the Puritan Board in our journey and in teaching us to *think biblically* in many things. I think it is a shame that so many of us are NOT being taught in our churches and have to resort to a board on the internet....but we are thankful in our case that there IS such a board. Thank you to all of you who have taken part in splitting so many hairs here and making us think.

Welcome! You must know Zach and Holly Loomis? I met them at an OPC college and career retreat in Texas in March and they said they were involved in an OPC plant in the Memphis area.

Thank you Alan! And we extend the same invitation to YOU and your family if you ever find yourself up here!
Dan! Holly and Zach Loomis are two of my dd's very good friends. I think they have already *informed* Megan that she is coming with them next year. How funny!

| | Welcome to you Polly! You might know Tom and Rhiannon Berdeja. They are good friends and have been attending that church plant on occasion. P.S., I am also a member of Riveroaks who is living in a self-imposed exile here in Mississippi.

Hi Polly -- I spent a brief amount of time in Collierville in the early 80's -- I'll bet it's changed since then.
Six kids !! -- I have six kids too, but I can't imagine homeschooling all of them. How old are they?

Howdy, Polly. My brother lives just down the road from you. And, my sister lives just up the road from you. I haven't seen 'Irian Jaya' in a while. I knew some folks from college that went there. Some of them were going back. They grew up there.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes!
John, I'll post the ages of my children in my user profile. And yes, you would NOT recognize Collierville *at all* now. For one thing, there is a large open mall there now!
Lawrence, I wonder if my dh would know some of your friends? He grew up there, but his family immigrated to the states in the 70's for the kids' high school years. After his parents went back, my dh went to a vo-tech school in PA and then spent a couple of years in Haiti. However, if they grew up in Irian during the 60's/70's, I think ALL kids went to the English boarding school in Sentani. (That is where my dh learned English)
