| Q about Dordt, esp trial of Oldenbarneveldt
Can someone give me a reasoned answer on the following:
How culpable were the Gomarites (followers of Gomarus), or any of the other theolgoical allies of the synod, with the trial, conviction, and execution of Johan Van Oldenbarneveldt. It seems like the trial itself was unjust, but the ringleader, Maurice, Prince of Orange, seemed to have more political ambitions than theological. To what extent if any do the Churchmen of Dordt share in the trial?
