| | | Old Testament & Jesus
What would be some of the best symbolism and passages in the Old Testament that point to Jesus as the Messaih and also some of the prophecies that He fulfilled in the New. Thanks.
I'm witnessing to my mom and if you see my prayer request (from the human perspective), I think the Lod may bring her to saving faith through my preaching and witnessing. Thanks.
"In Christ",
Bobby

Why not start in the Garden itself with "Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come" (Rom. 5:14)?
The elements of Adamīs unique vocation which are typical of the Lord Jesus Christ are:
(1) His function as a covenant or federal representative of others (Rom. 5:12-21 with 1 Cor. 15:21-22).
(2) His duty to obey God (Rom. 5:12ff, Gen. 2:15-17 with Jn. 4:34; Gal. 4:4; Phil. 2:8).
(3) His having and caring for a bride (Eph. 5:30-32 with Gen. 2:18-25).
(4) His being the son of God, in Godīs image, and in communion with the Father (Lk. 3:38 [Gen. 1:26] with Heb. 1:1-3, 5).
(5) His temptation by the Devil in the garden (Gen. 3:1ff. with Matt. 4:1-11 and Luke 4:1-13 [cf. genealogy in 3:23-38, esp. v. 38)
(6) His responsibility to fill the earth, subdue it, and have dominion as Godīs unique son in communion with the Father (Gen. 1:28 with Ps. 8:6; 72:8; 110:1ff.; Matt. 28:18-20; 1 Cor. 15:27; Eph. 1:20-23; Col. 1:15ff; Rev. 5:9-10).
