I'm listening to the 5th podcast in a series on Spiritual Abuse...it's talk radio style interview/discussion. Due to the speakers being Reformed, they are mentioning quite a few names we are familiar with.

Apparently, Grudem and several others hold to a Hierarchy of the Trinity. As in, God, Son, and Holy Spirit (in that order), that Christ has only the power to bring prayers to God the Father, but cannot do answer prayer with God the Father's permission, etc.

This sounds like extreme Trinitarianism (as in Three gods, three thrones, three separate and distinct being that are not one other than they coexist).

Can anyone comment?

There is an order within the trinity: "The Father is made of none, neither created nor begotten. The Son is of the Father alone; not made nor created, but begotten. The Holy Spirit is of the Father and of the Son; neither made, nor created, nor begotten, but proceeding." (Athanasian Creed)

But to say that "Christ has only the power to bring prayers to God the Father, but cannot do answer prayer with God the Father's permission" seems to be a little off. I suppose it would depend upon whether they are refering to the economic or ontological trinity.
