The Beauty of Logical Purity

In my time at a Roman Catholic forum, which is now about up (as soon as I can finish up a couple threads), God has graced me with a wonderful understanding of one way in which heresies exist: by a rejection of logical purity. From what I have read, many Romanists affirm predestination, that the number of the elect is immutable, that grace is entirely sufficient unto salvation, that God alone is to receive the praise for salvation, etc., without understanding the logical consequences of this. It seems as if they just look at the Bible and take whatever they think each passage affirms without seeing how it fits together or how certain things are implied by the passages. "Sufficient grace? I'll take that!" "Choice [read: their specific understanding of free will]? I'll take that!"

All in all, this has given me a wonderful adoration of the logical purity that is present in Reformed Christianity. Praise God.

Ben you are correct in saying that:

"All in all, this has given me a wonderful adoration of the logical purity that is present in Reformed Christianity. Praise God."[/QUOTE]

And also what is true is that logical purity is not present in roman catholic theology. As an ex roman catholic and convert to the Reformed Protestant Faith, I agree with you completely.

In grace,
Dudley
