Why did Jesus come?

At the end of a visiting preacher's sermon, I (actually the whole congregation) was challenged with the question: "In His own words, why did Jesus come to earth?" My answer was: to do the Father's will (John 6:38). I was told no. I was told it was to testify to the truth (John 18:37). Both answers are in scripture, but I struggle with his answer because I believe his point is subordinate to mine. What do you believe and why?

Was it His Father's will that he testify the truth?

I think it was.

He also came to "seek and to save that which was lost". There are many listed reasons, but I think yours is the broadest.
