| On thorns ...
My pastor has been preaching through the book of Mathew and has spent the last few weeks considering Christ's passion.
What I appreciated from yesterday's sermon was consideration of the thorns placed on Jesus' head. He traced this back to the curse following the fall, where thorns were to infest the ground, and followed the imagery through the older testament.
The whole rest of the day, I had the words in my mind (and hope we'll sing them some time in the next few weeks): "No more let sin and sorrows reign; nor thorns infest the ground! He comes to make His blessings flow far as the curse is found ..."
(And this was only about a third of the sermon!)
