Timothy Rogers on Melancholy

In my copy of the SDG reprint of Rogers' Trouble of Mind and the Disease of Melancholy there is a printing error which appears to have left some words out, and I am wondering if anyone could fill them in for me.

On p.328 the page ends abruptly with quite a space left, but it would not appear that anything is lost because 329 repeats 1 partial and 8 whole words from the last line of 328. Page 329 is then printed far below the ordinary margin, and ends with:

11. Sometimes this sorrow is mixed with deep de-

and p. 330 commences

taken away. "I shall surely perish," says the mourning soul.

So what comes between "mixed with deep de-" and "taken away"?

Vanities and disguises have covered us, and thereby we are naked; licenciousness hath inflam'd us, and thereby we are frozen; voluptuousness hath fed us, and thereby we are sterved, the fancies and traditions of men have taught and instructed us, and thereby we are ignorant.
John Donne

If I was at home I'd scan that page for you. Makes me wonder, does my copy have the same error... hmmm.

But alas, I'm stuck in a hotel room in South Carolina.
I won't be home for another week. I can check for you then if no one else is able to help.

Thanks, Alex. I know I'm not the only one on the board with a copy of the book - we'll see if anyone else who has one sees this thread.

"11. Sometimes this sorrow is mixed with deep despair. It is a tempetuous and stormy night. And, as Paul said in another case, all hope of their being saved is taken away. "I shall surely perish," says the mourning soul."
