Les Tragiques -- Théodore-Agrippa d'Aubigné

Les Tragiques (1616), the greatest epic poem inspired by the French Wars of Religion, written by Théodore-Agrippa d'Aubigné, French Huguenot (1552 - 1630), is available online in French here:

Good poem, indeed! C'est puissant. I struggle with some of the older French, though. It is mostly the same as my Nouveau Testament et Psaumes (Louis Segond, 1910) but a few of the words used in this poem are foreign to me. (No pun intended )

Ha! It's funny that I speak French in California, though. Almost everybody (especially outside of real cities) speaks either English or Spanish. French just doesn't help...except in making girls think I am much more interesting than I really am.

"Excusez-moi, madame. Etes-vous mort dans le passé? Parce que vous avez un corps glorifié!"

Thanks for the link, Andrew.
