Have you noticed that there is pornography everywhere now? Just driving down the highway you are exposed to basically nude women advertising for strip clubs and such. Of course the television these days is polluted with it as well on about all the shows and commercials, and obviously the internet where light, medium or even hard core pornography is just a click away. As Mark Driscoll says "it is easier to look at a beautiful woman naked than it is to get up and go to your fridge."

This is a terrible development in our society and is going to be even more difficult in the coming years. We need to come up with a sound plan to keep our children away from pornography when the rest of the world says it is a healthy expression of sexuality and even many Christians don't condemn it because pornography and masturbation isn't explicitly mentioned in the bible.

This is one area where I support censorship laws. I would love to see pornography banned and decency laws enacted in all public places and domains. ID verification and password protection should be required by law to access it on the internet, and it should never be placed on a billboard or in any public area. Such as this billboard that was eventually taken down in New York: Calvin Klein 'Threesome' Ad Draws Oohs, Aahs and Protests - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News - FOXNews.com

This is one area the devil is using right now to really drag down Christians, especially pastors and deacons and such. I think Mark Driscoll dealt with this topic well in his booklet **** Again Christian: http://relit.org/****_again_christian/toc.php

Well, the Mark Driscoll link isn't going to work because apparently the word **** can't be used here. But if you google Mark Driscoll **** again christian you can read his work. He is a Calvinist pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle.

Struggles

1. Lust
2. Anger
3. Self-Love

I find myself constantly praying and having to fight these three main sins in my life. I constantly feel so unworthy, so filthy. All I want is to be clean, to be held in the arms of my King Jesus Christ. I am the chief of sinners and still have no idea why Christ could ever want a being like I.

Questions/Thoughts

1. If Christ says that blessed are the peacemakers, then why do so many self proclaimed 'Reformed' Christians, who believe in Scripture Alone, still believe in just war? I guess I'm having a struggle with war and violence. Aren't Christians supposed to be non-violent and non-resistent? Shouldn't we draw a contrast between our King, The Prince of Peace, and the ruler of this World, Satan, who was a murderer from the beginning? I'm not saying that I'm a pacifist, but I guess I am struggling with this issue.

Any thoughts (or prayers) that you might have on these would be great!

Thanks and God Bless,

Hi guys,

Just to let you know, as a young Christian I was brought up on the teachings of Derek Prince and other Arminian teachers. The church I attended was by no means pentecostal, but was mildly charismatic. I have some friends who left there a few years ago, who now go to another church (that seems to be even more charismatic), and I mentioned the other day to them, that someone said to me "be careful not to fall away while you're looking for a church" and a few other things.

Their reply was "I hope you refuted that". I'm assuming they believe in the power of words to curse and stuff like that. Has anyone got any thoughts on curses, generational curses and things like that?

Before I ask these questions I also have some explaining to do in order to put it all into context. I am naturally, for good or bad, a skeptical person and I never really believed in a lot of the camp-fire stories that people tell but lately some very odd and unsettling things have been happening in my home.

It started when we moved into our new apartment and I was appointed to the managerial board. The apartment above us was empty but we always heard loud banging and very loud footsteps but could never hear them on the steps outside. When we would go up to check it out there was no sign of anything going on. Other neighbors also heard the same noises. After a while the noises began to include water running and doors slamming. I wrote all of this off as something natural.

Then the light switches in OUR apartment began to flip themselves on and off. We would turn out the light and when we came back into to the room they would be flipped on. Pictures would be slightly out of place and other little things. Again I thought nothing of this. Until the other day when my wife and I went out for a couple of hours. We left the apartment and locked the door, then I decided to check the apartment again and all lights were off. When we get back a light switch has been flipped on and our bedroom doors was closed. Nothing was moved or stolen. I still unholstered my Glock and did a check of the apartment. There was no other evidence that anyone was there.
So I did the penny test on the door and the paper clip to test to see if anyone was coming in, no movement. I sat up a trail cam in the house, nothing recorded. Things still move on their own.
Today I woke up and my wife had walked to the library and I could not find my car keys. I looked everywhere, outside, inside and in the car. I stepped in the shower, when I got out the keys were hanging on my computer. This has upset my wife and I tremendously.
We have gone over ever natural cause, called electricians and had them visit. Neither us nor the head apartment manager can figure this out.
Am I crazy? Can there be some type of supernatural thing happening in my home or am I being naive? No one else in the complex is experiencing anything like this or at least the won't say it if they have.

I know this sounds ridiculous but I would not be sharing if I wasn't very concerned.

Hello dear brothers and friends

I have been thinking about the way we pray (I don't want it to sound like I pray enough and very fervently, it's just this little detail what's missing - not praying biblically). Because this is not necessarily the case.
But I noticed that sometimes I pray about things that I am not supposed to pray about, and so often I have "patterns", which are not so biblical either. Many I hear in church. Or I pray in general terms ("bless me"), etc.

Can anyone help me with this? A study or book on that (puritans, if possible). I don't necessarily mean take the prayers in the Biblie and do alike.
I mean the right wording and the right ideas.
In my opinion we are supposed to pray biblically.

In case there is such a thread, please point me to it. I haven't found anything similar here.

Thank you very much. I am so blessed by this forum!
